Activities NAHEP


The Directorate of Students’ Welfare organized three ‘one-day training programmes’ on “Personality Development and Employability Skill” for the Students of Colleges of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Horticulture and Agriculture, JAU, Junagadh on 22, 26, and 27 November respectively.

The response of the students was overwhelming and more than 90 UG students across the colleges participated and benefitted from the interactive training program which covered time management, communication skills, basics of Resume and CV and how to face interview.

The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, organized under the NAHEP a one day Entrepreneurship Programme on “Pet Spa & Pet Behavioural Issues” on 3rd December 2018. The event was attended by 240 participants that included 56 pet owners, 47 faculty members, 71 under graduate students and 26 post graduate students. The programme included presentations from range of experts including Certified Canine Behavior Specialist and Pet Practitioner. The event was concluded with a Canine quiz competition for UG students.

A two days National Seminar on “Modern Trends and Advances in Animal Sciences” was organized under the NAHEP during 21-22 December 2018. The seminar included presentations from distinguished experts and invited speakers like Dr. D. B. Patil, Director of Research, Kamdhenu University, Dr. T. K. Mohanty, Principal Scientist NDRI, Dr. Vilas Dongre Subject Matter Specialist, UDGIR. Sixty students attended and actively participated in the seminar. The discussion included artificial intelligence and neural network, sensor automation, NGS and its application, Robotics in Agriculture engineering & Horticulture. The support and funding for the above training programmes by NAHEP-IDP was duly acknowledged and appreciated by the participants.

A National Seminar cum Training on “Applications of advanced instrumentation in drug discovery and role of veterinarians in biomedical science” was organized under the NAHEP on 04/01/2019 by Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, JAU, Junagadh. There were two technical sessions which included five technical and two training modules. Eighty three UG students, 20 PG students and 32 faculties participated in the programme. The eminent researchers and entrepreneurs from the pharmaceutical industry were invited to address the participants in the areas of drug discovery and role of veterinarians in the biomedical science. The talks included introduction and application of robotics and AI in drug discovery.

The second technical session included two presentations and two hands on training modules for the participants followed by interactive brain storming session moderated by The President & CEO of Prerana Bio-innovations Research, Gandhinagar and the Deputy General Manager at Zydus Research Centre, Cadilla Health Care, and Ahmedabad with the UG & PG.
