Objective: 1. To Promote High Tech Horticulture development by Training viz. M.Sc./ M. Tech. Students, Scientist, Faculty staff thereby increasing scope for investment and employment opportunities in horticulture sector. 2. Understanding the principles, theoretical aspects and developing skills in protected cultivation of vegetable and flowers crops. 3. Adoption of smart farming guarantee better productivity since the focus is on maximizing inputs and reducing wastage.
Pre Event Description :
Course Content : Impact of Climate Change on Agriculture. Climate controlled in protected cultivation structures. Protected Cultivation technology (Structure, Equipment’s & Instruments). Installation of irrigation and fertigation unit. Fertigation systems under protected cultivation. BIS standards of greenhouse structures & Components. Protected structure for Hydroponic production Technology, Plug tray nursery raising technology under Hydroponics cultivation. Production Technology for flowers under Hydroponics Cultivation, Production of vegetables and ornamental crops through hydroponics technology. Aquaponic Aroponic, Artificial lighting for plants. Automation system under protected cultivation. Operation & Maintenance of greenhouse systems. Postharvest Management in Protected Cultivation. Methodology : The programme will be consists of lecture cum discussion, group discussion, practical, power point presentation, videos, visits, Experience sharing, success story, Brain storming. Expected Certificate course Outcomes : It will be participants understanding the skill work of protected cultivation in climate smart agriculture and water management technology. The participants develop the different technology application related to protected cultivation. After completing this programme, participants will be able to: Perform pre-cultivation practices in Green House :Site Selection, Design selection, Soil testing, soil treatment, land preparation, transplantation, etc Cultivate and Manage Flower Crop in Green house: Inputs procurement, Land preparation, planting, soil testing, application of fertilizer & nutrients, irrigation, etc Harvest the crop and maintain the quality: Time of Harvesting, method of harvesting, post harvest practice, packing, storage and transportation Become well versed with Environment Health & Safety: Well versed with health and safety measures in terms of personal safety and others as well.
