Objective: The objective of an agricultural education fair is to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge, information, and innovations within the agricultural sector. These fairs are designed to bring together various stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, educators, policymakers, and industry professionals, to promote learning, collaboration, and the overall development of the agricultural community. 1. Knowledge Dissemination: Share the latest advancements in agricultural practices, technologies, and research with farmers and other participants 2. Capacity Building: Provide training and workshops to farmers and agricultural professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge. 3. Showcasing Innovations: Showcase new and innovative products, technologies, and practices in agriculture. 4. Promoting Sustainable Practices: Emphasize the importance of sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation. 5. Youth Involvement: Engage and inspire the younger generation to pursue careers in agriculture. Promote educational programs and opportunities that encourage youth participation in the agricultural sector. 6. Showcasing Regional Diversity: Highlight the diverse agricultural practices across different regions.
Pre Event Description :
On December 22, 2023, the College of Horticulture in Bidar hosted an Agriculture Education Fair, aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and promoting innovation in agriculture. This event, sponsored by the Institutional Development Plan, a collaborative project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the World Bank, brought together students, faculty, and experts in the field. A total of 140 higher secondary schools' and PU students actively participated, including students from nearby schools in Bengaluru. The fair showcased a diverse range of activities, workshops, and exhibitions at the College of Horticulture, Bidar, tailored to the unique interests and aspirations of the students. From cutting-edge technological displays to hands-on workshops, the fair provided an immersive experience for all participants. Renowned professionals and educators in the field conducted sessions covering a wide range of topics, including sustainable farming practices, the importance and opportunities in the field of agriculture and horticulture. The interactive nature of these sessions fostered active participation and engaged discussions. The fair actively encouraged student involvement and participation, offering a platform for students to showcase their work and inspiring others to pursue excellence in their agricultural pursuits. Specialized training programs were designed to enhance the practical skills of the students, focusing on various aspects of horticulture such as crop management, pest control, and post-harvest techniques, providing valuable hands-on experience.
